Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28, 1967 on the 28th of October, 1967 in Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts belongs to the Robertses' fourth generation to live in the Atlanta region, beginning in the family of her grand-father John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. The Robertses' father was interested in the theatre at a young stage. As an undergraduate at Emory University, he performed on stage in a number of shows in Atlanta. When he joined in 1953 the Air force, he appeared alongside Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. In 1955, the couple got married and in 1956 their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter attended Tulane University at New Orleans in the year 1957, after the couple left the US Air Force. Walter began working for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou financed their own production of the local children's Sunday matinee show called Bum Bum and His Buddies. In the following year, they established The Actors and Writers Workshop which operated for a period of six years. The couple also had two children, Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also named Lisa), and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also also known by the name Julie).
