April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4, 1995) started her musical journey as a 7th grader when she took piano and guitar classes. April Lockhart composed her first song"Different" at twelve years old. At 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musicianship skills. She began writing alongside her father and her dad in NY and LA shortly after. April started to incorporate other relevant topics into the"Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer with an ever-growing following. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership as well as being a specialist in lifestyle. She was born without her left hand, and it's an aspect of her identity, but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart's Twitter profile does not ignore her status as disabled however, it doesn't make a point of it. It's a message. That we all contain multitudes and that we are all unique and that we are greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart said via video that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her physical disability. She doesn't want to become a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are a lot of aspects to Lockhart. However, it doesn't affect my daily life. I continue to do my normal activities and I've adapted to my disability. Because it's my identity, it's something that's worthy of discussion. Lockhart has served as an excellent inspiration to her fellow women with regards to acceptance of oneself. Still she admits she's gone through phases of her body, at times, being unsure about wearing particular types of clothes which showed the arms of her. She dresses according to her preferences and is proud to post pictures of herself in the outfits she wears on social media. Self-love for her was an extended journey. However, that is common for anyone that is prone to doubts. It's vital to surround yourself people who can discern and understand your heart.
